Accuri Cytometers

We could talk about the C6 all day. However we thought you would like to hear what some of our customers think about our powerful, affordable, simple flow cytometer system.

"When I first heard about the Accuri C6 it seemed too good to be true. After using it for the past few months I am happy to say that 'good' and 'true' are still very much applicable. The small footprint, low maintenance costs and ease of use make it an excellent choice for any lab which wants to get away from the long queue (at least in our institution) of the Core cytometry facilities. To paraphrase a well known childhood memory, it’s 'the little cytometer that could.'"
— Sabyasachi Biswas, Ph.D.,Core Lab Manager, Dept. of Surgery, The Ohio State University

"The instrument was delivered to my laboratory, taken out of the box installed by myself and within 20 minutes was running and fulfilling our standard quality control regime of alignment and low level fluorescence discrimination.

One of the first experiments we ran was to establish the range of the 24 bit processor. A GFP signal that was off scale on our other flow cytometer gave us a distribution that was contained within the 24 bit scale on the C6. This was then very easily analysed on Venturi 1 software by exporting the list mode data.

Absolute counting was the next target whereby we diluted a Trucount bead tube containing 53,143 beads with 1mL, the Accuri delivered a count of 51.94 beads per µl , the Trucount beads were easily resolved by the forward scatter detection , thus avoiding the necessity to trigger on fluorescence."
— Ian Dimmick, Flow Cytometry Core Facility Manager, Institute of Human Genetics, International Centre for Life

"The Accuri C6 cytometer and CFlow Plus have far exceeded our expectations. The C6 provides important additional data that we have previously been missing. One is the highly accurate volume determination, so that absolute cell counts are automatically recorded for each experiment. Secondly, the six-log scale means that we can collect all data without compensation, so that runs from different days can be more easily compared. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the C6, and would highly recommend it."
— Richard J. Bram MD PhD, Associate Professor of Immunology and Pediatrics

"Having come from a facility that had flow cytometers that were part of a core facility that ran late into the night because the instruments were always booked and people ran very tightly on their appointment times, it is nice to have a flow cytometer that fits on my lab bench adjacent to my workspace and takes up very little space. This is a perfect investment for ... professors that do a great deal of flow cytometry in their day-to-day experiments."
— Warren Fiskus, PhD, Medical College of Georgia Cancer Center

"The C-6 has been used by our core facility to screen over 16,000 samples a week! Accuri service has been responsive to our questions and the instrument has been reliable and easy to operate."
— Martha Larsen, HTS Director, University of Michigan

"The Accuri C6 really is as easy to set up as the promotional materials promise. Using the instructions provided by the company, I was able to set up the C6 and install CFlow in less than two hours. Within a week of delivery Accuri contacted me for my calibration data to verify that the instrument was working correctly and to see if I had any questions. Now that I have used the C6 I can say that it is simply terrific! It performs as I had hoped and is very intuitive to use."
— Robin Salter, Associate Professor of Biology, Oberlin College

"The Accuri C6 is a transformative product, providing high performance flow cytometry in an affordable, easy-to-use format that makes it accessible to almost all researchers. And the story gets even better. In recent toxicity studies that relied on the system’s uniquely wide dynamic range, our lab was able to conduct experiments that previously had not been successful using a traditional cytometer available in our core facility. Affordable and accessible, and with improved capabilities, too!"
— Steve McClellan, Sr. Biological Scientist, Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR), Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory, University of Florida

“The Accuri C6 is a great work horse for the research lab that requires four-color analysis. The data we obtain from the C6 tell us that this instrument is, just as, if not more, sensitive as more expensive instruments and maintenance is so easy. Plus the data produced by the C6 can be smoothly analyzed by third-party software such as FlowJo. Kudos for the C6!”
— Makio Iwashima, Loyola University School of Medicine

"The C6 has easily and inexpensively allowed us to open new doors for product development. This benefit will be passed on to our customers as we are able to broaden the tools we make available for their research."
— Sharon Bonnette, Ph.D., Senior Product Manager, Bethyl Laboratories, Inc.

"The C6 is great for two color monitoring of activated cell phenotype after in vitro recall antigen stimulation, better by far than the other flow instruments I have used."
— David Hurley, University of Georgia
