Accuri Cytometers

Welcome to a brand new day in flow cytometry.
We have one goal: A flow cytometer for all.

Our mission is to enable the power of flow cytometry to proliferate worldwide to every lab working with cells or beads. We started by listening to scientists like you and then designing a flow cytometer from the ground up incorporating your needs. We worked hard to provide the performance for most experiments, while making the C6 easier to use, simple to maintain, and affordable for everyone. Accuri's innovations in fluidics, optics, electronics and software, coupled with state-of-the-art components, result in a cytometer that is powerful, robust, compact, and affordable. We also developed an intuitive user interface that can be mastered in minutes. And we've done all of this so you can focus on one thing: advancing your science, in your lab.

Powerful, but still at your fingertips.

The Accuri C6 Flow Cytometer® features 2 lasers, 2 scatter and 4 fluorescence detectors. Designed to work well with current protocols and reagents, the C6 is a high performance flow cytometer, simplified.

High performance in a small package.

The C6 Flow Cytometer is small and portable yet has the power to do your research. Four fluorescence and two scatter detectors give you the power you have come to expect in a flow cytometer. An industry-standard, sheath-focused core facilitates high performance while enabling event rates of up to 10,000 events/second and sample concentrations over 5x107 cells/ml. The C6 even measures the volume pulled from your sample so that you can calculate cell concentration without the need for adding beads to samples or performing time-consuming hemocytometer counts.

2 Lasers, 2 scatter and 4 fluorescence channels.

The C6 is equipped with a blue and a red laser, two scatter detectors, and four fluorescence detectors with interference filters optimized for the detection of FITC, PE, PerCP-Cy5.5 and APC. Since the specifications and performance of the C6 are similar to that of the market-leading flow cytometers, you can use your current reagents and protocols. The C6 has a fully digital data collection system, allowing complete flexibility to display and analyze data post-collection, without permanent alteration of your original data file.

Works with current protocols and reagents.

You have spent years developing protocols and reagents you can depend on for your research. So we developed the C6 to use the same reagents you currently use on the market- leading flow cytometers. Since the C6 fluidics system is non-pressurized, any brand of sample tube that is 12x75 mm or smaller can be used. This includes microfuge tubes and tubes made of polypropylene or polystyrene.

FCS 3.0 compatible file format.

The C6 Flow Cytometer allows you to export your CFlow® files in FCS 3.0 format for seamless importation of your data into most 3rd party flow cytometry software programs including FCS Express and FlowJo.

"The Accuri C6 is a very powerful instrument but still accessible to a novice user for basic flow cytometry needs." Biotech Flow Cytometry Manager, Ann Arbor, MI

Affordable, but more than capable.

The Accuri C6 Flow Cytometer is flow cytometry at its best. Its affordable price makes it accessible beyond compare. The C6 has a foot print small enough to fit most any lab and is designed to allow you to do your research when you like.

Affordably priced.

Accuri designed the C6 Flow Cytometer from the ground up to be a full-featured, affordable instrument that is accessible to everyone. Major areas of innovation include a unique low-pressure pumping system to drive fluidics as opposed to more expensive pressurized systems. The optical bench is compact and employs components that have evolved to be smaller, more robust, and less expensive. This smaller optical bench needs no alignment so the C6 is ready to use out of the box. High quality components plus innovations enable Accuri to offer the C6 at a price that is affordable for most labs.

A flow cytometer that fits your lab.

Flow cytometer affordability is a combination of factors including purchase price, routine maintenance, service contract price, time required to learn the system or teach others, and the need to hire a dedicated operator. These costs are reduced or eliminated with the C6. The system is so easy to operate and maintain that a dedicated operator is not required and new C6 users can be trained in less than 30 minutes. The C6 employs laboratory-grade water for sheath fluid so commercial sheath fluids are not needed. Maintenance is made simple with automatic cleaning and decontamination upon instrument shutdown. No room renovations are required to install a C6. It fits easily on the benchtop and uses standard electrical service.

Research on your schedule.

The C6 is small enough to fit into every lab. It can even be placed in a laminar flow hood. So it is available, at your fingertips, anytime you need to check cell concentration, viability or phenotype. Think of the times when results from one experiment required rapid follow-up, yet you had no access to a flow cytometer for weeks. With a C6 Flow Cytometer in your lab, you can follow up quickly on your experimental results and move forward with your research.

Applications:

Simple, but in a very scientific way.

CFlow® Software has an intuitive user interface designed specifically with the researcher in mind. And with the Accuri C6 Flow Cytometer, there's no need to set gain or voltage. We believe that ease of use makes for better research.

CFlow software is easy to learn and teach.

Accuri spent hundreds of hours observing researchers using flow cytometers to develop the intuitive design of CFlow software. The user interface is so easy to learn that most current flow cytometer users are collecting and analyzing data in less than 30 minutes. CFlow uses a tabbed approach to access functions such as Collect, Analyze and Statistics. As a result, most user software options and instrument controls are clearly visible on screen, not hidden under layers of menus. Even the novice flow cytometer user can quickly learn to use the C6 Flow Cytometer from a simple quick start guide.

Compatible with commonly used software.

Creating a presentation of your flow data could not be simpler. You can drag and drop plots into MS Office applications, copy and paste statistics into spreadsheets, making data reporting easy. Also quickly export CFlow data to FCS 3.0 data files for analysis in your favorite 3rd party flow cytometry software.

No need to set gain or voltage. No set up required.

The most common error made when collecting flow cytometric data is the incorrect setting of gain or voltage. This often results in the loss of data from valuable, perhaps irreplaceable, samples. The C6 eliminates this error by collecting six decades of dynamic range, all the time, instead of the traditional four. Data always remain in the data file even when you use the CFlow Zoom function to view specified channels. Another bonus: eliminating the need to set gain or voltage reduces the consumption of valuable sample and sheath during set-up.

All your data, at any time.

The combination of digital data collection and six decades of dynamic range provides unrivaled flexibility in your data analysis. Gating strategies and fluorescence compensation values can be set during, or after, data collection. New users can collect data using a simple pre-set template, and the data can be analyzed later with more expert help. Data collected on a C6 Flow Cytometer can be re-analyzed at any time if gating or compensation errors are discovered, or in light of new research findings.
