Accuri Cytometers

Reagents and Kits

Accuri is building a full line of flow cytometry reagents and kits to support a wide variety of applications.

Operating Fluids

Your C6 Flow Cytometry System is programmed to clean itself every day when you turn it off. During every system shut down the instrument automatically purges the fluidics lines with decontamination fluid, a 0.5% solution of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), to ensure the system stays free of potential contaminants. When not in use the system is left soaking in sheath fluid, which is automatically flushed out when the instrument is next turned on. To accomplish these tasks the C6 Flow Cytometer has two small containers that should be refilled periodically with the appropriate solutions. To assist the user all of the fluidics tanks can be fitted with sensors that automatically report when they need attention.

Accuri also offers convenient single-use ampoules of bacterisostat concentrate. Add 1 ampoule per 1 L of sheath.

Kits

Accuri's Cell Cycle Phase Determination Kit provides a convenient tool for studying the induction and inhibition of cell cycle progression in any cell suspension sample. The assay involves the fixation and permeabilization of the cells of interest, making possible the staining of DNA within intact cells by propidium iodide. This kit will allow you to determine the percentage of cells in a given sample that are in G0/G1, G2, or S phase at the time of fixation, as well as to quantify cells in the sub-G1 phase prior to apoptosis.

The Apoptotic Blebs Assay Kit employs a recombinant protein containing single-chain variable fragments (scFv) of D56R fused to the protein A domain B fraction as an antibody for apoptotic blebs. The protein A portion of this fusion protein is recognized and visualized by fluorescein-conjugated rabbit IgG. Propidium iodide is included in the kit for detection of dead cells, through either a necrotic or apoptotic pathway. The kit is easy to use and can be easily adapted to high throughput screening for therapeutic compounds regulating apoptosis.

The JC-1 Mitochondrial Membrane Potential Assay Kit can be used to study the behavior of mitochondria in a variety of conditions, including apoptosis. The main advantage of this assay is that the changes in ΔΨm reflected by different forms of JC-1 as either green or red flourescence can be both qualified and quantified by fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, or a fluorescence plate reader with appropriate filter sets.
